Who We Serve

UCP has adopted an employment first philosophy in its adult day program. Our members can participate in an activity focused on employment to gain additional life skills. We pride ourselves on the quality of service provided to our members. It is through this commitment we have taken steps to ensure that our facility and staff adhere to the standards set by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

What We Do

UCP’s program’s offer daily discoveries and activities. Our members are exposed to and participate in many activities intended to stimulate and enhance their experience. Each program component is led by dedicated and experienced staff who have compassion for our members.

Focal Point day program serves approximately 60 participants. The outgoing and caring staff helps to make the participants feel connected to each activity they are participating in. We serve individuals with a variety of functionalities and find ways to work with and improve the abilities each person has. The program focuses on skill building in the areas of money management, self advocacy, independent living, pre-employment, physical education, and social skills. We help to introduce and include adaptable technology such as iPads and Smart-Board use to improve communication and interaction.

Expanding Horizons is a community integration program focusing on the learning experience happening in the community. Skill building includes: safety, mobility training, self and community advocacy, vocational exploration, self sufficiency, and use of community resources. We also offer additional skill building such as money management, self advocacy, independent living, pre-employment, physical education, and social skills.

We provide the participants with our own buses.

Central Connections is a smaller adult day program in Turlock, CA serving approximately 30 participants. The smaller program allows for more personalized care for those who attend. The compassionate and friendly staff help to create a family feel environment that allows the individuals we serve to feel at home.  At Central Connections, the focus is on the individual participant and their personal goals, and skill building. Areas of focus include money management, self-advocacy, independent living, pre-employment, physical education, and social skills. Participants also have the opportunity to go on community outings to participate in activities such as grocery shopping for cooking class, bowling,  and attending field trips to the movies.  Participants also assist is cultivation of the UCP community garden to help cultivate the growing plants and learn more about the “Farm to Fork” concept.

We serve surrounding communities such as Denair, Patterson, Newman, and Keyes.
